How SmartMaya handles children, student users, classrooms, and learning records.
Reconciled sources
Children and student data
SmartMaya education and classroom features may process student-related data when a student, parent or guardian, teacher, school, institution, or customer uses those features. This may include account details, classroom membership, assignments, course enrollment, learning progress, consent or acknowledgement records, support requests, security events, and limited tool-use records needed to provide and administer the service.
SmartMaya does not sell student personal data. SmartMaya does not intend to use student personal data for behavioral advertising. Student-related data should be used only for the educational, classroom, safety, support, and administrative purposes authorized by the relevant school, parent or guardian, institution, customer, or account holder.
Where children or students use SmartMaya, the responsible school, institution, parent, guardian, or customer administrator must determine the appropriate consent, notice, age-gating, account setup, and supervision requirements for their jurisdiction and deployment. SmartMaya supports reasonable access, correction, deletion, export, restriction, objection, and child/student privacy requests through the signed-in Data Request flow or [email protected].
Students should not enter home addresses, phone numbers, financial details, health data, passwords, government identifiers, or unrelated sensitive personal information into SmartMaya prompts or uploads unless an authorized school or customer workflow expressly permits it.
Safeguards
Student-related data is handled under role-based access, product security controls, and customer or school configuration where those controls are available.
Schools, parents, guardians, and authorized adults are responsible for determining whether SmartMaya is appropriate for a student and for obtaining required permissions in their jurisdiction.
Parent, guardian, school, or student privacy requests may be submitted through the SmartMaya Data Request form or sent to [email protected].
